Fall Colors?

Recommended Posts

I saw on the news tonight there are some pockets with decent color scattered from Mille Lacs on North. I was think of taking a drive from the cities this weekend. Anyone have any luck yet finding any and captured any images?

I found lots of bright maples in the Cook MN area, and I took a drive on MN highway 1 and the colors were incredible! then when I got near the big pond the colors became really subdued for some reason. I got quite a few pics on the road and will post them in a day or two.

The color along the North Shore itself is always later. Lake Superior keeps temps a bit warmer in fall than they are inland, delaying peak color along the lakeshore beneath the escarpment.

Up here around Ely, there is a ton of color. I think this weekend will be the peak, which I consider about a week earlier than average. But average doesn't really mean much. Each year is its own dog. This year the color is wonderful.

The colors here in PA are just starting to show themselves. Our cabin is 1 hr north of where we live and it colors there quicker than here. We'll be packing the dogs, camera and headed there in 2 weeks to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary.
