upnorth
Try a pool que and a winch Just a little humor, but I do think a med hvy to heavy rig would be in order, those guys throw some big lures. Bait caster and about 30# test would be in order I guess.
Steve Foss
Cliffy's got the right idea. 6500s are the best for the value. You can get a good one on sale for $65 to $70 at WalMarts and KMarts everywhere (cheaper there than any tackle store, becaue they buy so many). If Cliffy's stick is too rich for your blood, get a medium-heavy 7 foot graphite composite Lightning Rod from Berkley. Cost you $40 or $50.Plenty of muscle without too much cost, and those Ambassadeurs last a long time. ------------------"Worry less, fish more."Steve Foss[email protected]
cliffy
I just bought my set-up a few weeks ago. I went with a Abu Garcia C3 6500 reel...spooled with 60lbs Tuff line on a 7 foot St. Croix heavy action rod...seems to work just fine. My 2 cents worth..... Mueske
I've had several muskie rods over the years but have always had an Abu Garcia 6500 with each one. Last summer I stopped at Reed's in Walker and for $110 I picked up a 2-piece St. Croix and a 6500. Great for when I drive to MN from WY for a chance at catching another muskie as it fits in the trunk. I love the action and the value of both.Kevin
