Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Wow, I just learned that Verizon is going to offer almost their entire line of android phones on a pre-paid basis. Verizon pre-paid android phones
deadeye
Yeah now if they would start to match prices on everyone else's monthly plans we would be getting somewhere...I hear virgin mobile's new prepay unlimited plan is pretty ridiculous. Wish-I-Were-Fishn
If the cheaper carriers should match Verizon's coverage, then we would really be getting somewhere.

Exactly. Ive been really considering dropping Verizon. I feel like a sucker paying $70 a month for 450 minutes and unlimited text. I thought about going in and trying to get a cheaper rates but from what I hear its futile (anyone actually tried it?).Anyone using Virgin Mobile network, How is it? It cant be too much worse than my Verizon converage that is spotty at best within a mile of my east metro home. That $25 450 minutes, unlimited data, no contract from Virgin Mobile is tempting. Ive been thinking maybe Ill get a nice smartphone, jailbreak it, and use it on their network.
spearchucker
Virgin uses the Sprint Network in the USA from what I can tell. Talk to people who have Sprint and see how their coverage is in the area you are in.
deadeye
Ya its really tempting to jump ship for sure. The only reason I don't is That I always get my way if I ever do have a problem since I have been with them for ten years (I think they were airtouch still when I got my first phone). Plus they are on contract with you (not just you to them) so there is more leverage yet.I have never had a spot where my calls wouldn't go through so its tough for me to ditch that. I just wonder how good the service is with the pre pay stuff. It makes me kinda nervous that it would be second rate compared to the contract plans.if its just as good thought it would be the way to go for sure. Jeremy airjer W
I have had prepay for 8 years or so. The coverage is the same for the carrier whether your prepay or contract. I have always received good customer service & been well taken car of with the few issues I have had. I have been contemplating the virgin mobile offer since I would like to upgrade to a "smarter" phone. I know several people who already use virgin prepay plans for there regular phones and they always have good things to say.
