troutcrazymn
I saw on another fishing forum that pick salmon/humpies where staging in late July. They should be in the river by now but I am not sure and can't find info on the numbers, the length of the run, or good river options. Any help would be appreciated. macgruber
not sure if ur info is spot on..... maybe somewhere else in the lake-- canada perhaps? usually u have to wait till lake sept on the north shore, and even then it's only on a few rivers...... i'll qualify that by saying i don't live up there, but i've fished the run the last few years and we usually go later..... reinhard1
thanks for the site. good info on it. before the french hatcherie was built i remember we had a good run of brown trout at the french. they are long gone. it is true the way the pinks deteriate quickly. sometimes you would be lucky to get a fresh run on your line. i have caught lake trout at the mouth of the babtism casting spoons in the fall. salmon runs are not as strong as they were years ago. i fish mainly for steelhead and loopers in the spring. knife river is my favorite. steelhead are making a good comback and that is good to see. good luck.
