ted4887
Does anyone know if there is a list of lakes in Minnesota that do NOT allow motored boats on it. I think it might be interesting to yak fish a few of them when I get some extra time.
SkunkedAgain
I have not seen one. A few years ago I spoke on the phone with some guy from the City of Minneapolis. He said that there are no consistent rules about the non-motor lakes and that each city is different. I was hoping that somebody, maybe even the DNR, could list out which lakes prohibited motors and any other pertinent rules. It's hard for fisherman to know when each lake varies.Certainly the chain of lakes (Nokomis, Harriet, Calhoun, Isles, and Cedar) are all non-motorized. MN BassFisher
Yeah, that would be a nice helpful thing to have. It's relatively hard to find information on non-motor lakes here. There is the Rice Chain of Lakes up in Lino Lakes, and then Lake Ann in Chanhassen, hmmm..I'm trying to think of some more but am drawing a blank. PartyWhine
I've never found a list per say BUT the DNR does publish the "Twin Cities Water Recreaction Guide". Its a map of every public access (carry in or trailer), fishing pier, beach etc in the 7 county metro area. And it includes any special regs on motor use, i.e none, electric only, HP limits etc.. Very useful.Lots of other counties have maps you can view on line.Use the carry in boat launches and you'll probably be in good shape. That info is available.Search the DNR site for public water access maps.Focus on the carry ins. Good Luck PW
ted4887
Well, I ended up finding what I was looking for. Anyone else who is interested, you can find the list at: http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/regulations/boatwater/local_regs.pdf
