OnAFly
I'm seeing reports that Rick Wilson is going to be named the replacement for Mike Ramsey (who I really didn't like to see go). They say he likes his defencemen to be just that, defencemen. He's a strong believer in the D staying in defensive position and making sure protecting the goalie is the #1 objective. I think the Wild could use more of this. What does this say for Richards style of having the D become forwards when able? Honestly, I didn't really like that style of Richards last year. All it did was provide countless turnovers and odd-man rushes for the opposition. Sure, it did lead to a few goals, and that's great, but at the end of the day, you need more goals than the opposition. Most of the time last year, they didn't. JimBuck
This is the first time I've heard of this. I've always liked Mike Ramsey and respected his decisions. The ideals of Rick Wilson sound like they may clash with what Richards has been trying to force for a new system. I did NOT like the new style of play for the same reasons you stated OnAFly. Did they state why Ramsey is being let go?
OnAFly
He left, said he never felt really comfortable on the bench.
