Consider this when looking at welded Aluminum
versus Riveted.

Aluminum needs to remain somewhat flexible, hence rivets rather than welding.

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but Jetliners and other Airplanes are still all riveted because they must endure the stress of flight, support of heavy Jet engines, etc.

If welding Aluminum was a better option I think we would see it done more often and especially in the airline industry.

All Boats take quite a beating on the water and we load them with alot of goodies, not to mention heavy motors and coolers full of refreshments grin.gif

I was actually interested in these boats, too. I went to their web site and had them send me a brochure. It says that G3 is a "Yamaha Boat Company". If that's the case, I guess I would assume that they are pretty well made. I was interested because their boat/motor/trailer packages are priced quite a bit lower than the bigger names.

i work with a guy who bought a new one last year.( i think it's a 21 ft with a 200 on it) he loves it. says it handles rough water well, handles great, and he can run through shallower water than he could with his older dyna-track. del

I heard they were terrible when they 1st came out but are much better now. Anyone own one? I want some 1st hand info. I heard from a rec. shop owner that the 1st boats that hit the market had to be scrapped they were so bad. Last year they got great revues in boat mags!
