Farley
O.K. What the heck makes that sound at night in a swampy lake (ie. north side of Clearwater (Annandale)). The best way I can describe it is it sounds like 100 people taking turns belching. I've always thought it was bullfrogs but one of my buddies says it coots. Then someone else said "That's dogfish barking, that's why they call them dogfish". And this guy is completly serious. Will someone please end this ongoing argument for us. Guest
It may be Dark30 sleeping near his fishing hole? HA! I would bet it is Top 10 Toady love tunes. Toads make a odd urrrrrp-urrrrrrp-urrrrrrp sound when they are mating. Again this is something Dark30 is reported to do too. LOL!! The Chemist
From my experience it's frogs. I didn't know that coots made a sound deep pitched I actually thought the counded like woodies alittle. And dogfish? I don't think so. The reason why they are called dogfish from what I've heardis when you open there mouth or lay them on shore they sound like thy are barking.
