Flatheads on topwater

Cooter

Recommended Posts

Last August a bud of mine got a flathead on a creeper while fishing muskies, last night another bud got one on a creeper. Too bad it doesn't happen more often - having one of those 40lbers you guys catch slurp down a topwater would be a riot!

I've seen creepies catch flats, but not creepers wink

Sounds like fun, but I know guys who can't cast when it's light out and you only have a single hook to deal with, can you imagine cast after cast with a multiple trebled bait? shockedgrin

Because their eyesight is so bad, I imagine it would have to be something that makes an aweful lot of noise and in somewhat clearer water to work effectively.

Creepers are quite noisy plus slow. Interesting that the one caught last night was on Wissota and the other last year on Holcombe. Neither are close to clear plus they get plenty green by July. On top of it, both were caught after dark.

So which creepies have you seen catch flatties? grin Bet its a long list with the crew that hangs around here!
