Good flies for brook trout.

It really depends on where you are fishing and what hatches are coming off. In general though, this time of year you can use hoppers, caddis, adams, etc on streams in SE MN and Central Wisconsin.

Try contacting some of the fly shops up that way and plug them for some info.

just do a Google search for Duluth MN fly shops .

considering that most trout feed bellow the surface about 90% of the time nymphs ,streamers would be a good choice to start with unless there is a hatch going .

Pink Squirrels. ex legs, Pheasant tail nymph,Hairs ear nymphs, brown, black, olive ,woolly buggers .

Muddler minnows, thunder creak minnows ,clousers

a good dry fly would be a elk hair cadis

I'll try to put up pics for the recipe for one my father in law in MT asks me to tie up for him. He uses this orange color for brookies in the hopper season.

Hook: #10 curved shank

Body: Ice chenille (orange)

Wing Case: Elk Hair (light)

white grizzly hackle

It was like a really small black ant nymph with an orange butt. I don't know what it's called thats just the best way to describe it. It chased it out from under a foam puddle right next to shore. Pretty cool to see just wish I could've caught it..
