You simply run your line thru the wire loop, hold the line and pull the bobber stop on it. Pull the tag end thru, and your ready to go. NOTE! Always wet the line and pull slowly! These rubber stops will melt if you pull to fast and get them hot.

Thanks Delmuts! I will try it out tomorrow night. Do you like to use those as opposed to the nylon rope bobber stops? i just got sick of the rope moving all the time and wanted to try something new.

The rubber ones work great until you are fishing deep and have small eyes on you rod. They can be troublesome to reel in without moving the stop.

The knots that I use are made of cotton and not nylon and seem to do a better job of holding as long as I get it wet before I cinch it down and cut off the excess string.

I've gone to the cotton ones also.I do leave a short tag on both ends so i can grab it with pliers as they will loosen up with alot of use. Many times if i take the float off, i will leave the stop on my line, but save the beed. Then if i want to go back all i have to do is slide the beed back on and i'm good to go. One tip though. When casting with the string stops; make shure the stop is not against a rod guide. Many times it will hang up. If you are off the guide a little, they will slide thru with no problems.
