Sabaskong/Miles Bay Report

Recommended Posts

Fished three days with my brother this past week. Did really well on bigger 'Eyes, 18" thru 27", catching several on Wednesday and Thursday. My brother, visiting from Mass., got the 27" which was his biggest 'Eye ever. Just shows what a good guide will do for the tourists. That time was spent on reefs West of Morson. After the cold front came thru on Thursday night, the bite slowed considerably. We spent most of that day fishing up in Miles Bay. Must have tried a dozen or more different spots. Got fish on all but two spots but usually only two or three per. These also ran smaller with 18" being the biggest. Weather was unusally cool for a July trip, which was nice after some of the warm humid weather we've been having in the metro. Back up again in three weeks. Will post again then.

East, thanks for the report. We're headed back up late Wednesday. Hate all these fronts but the fishing seems to recover pretty fast.

So why is the big part of the lake west of Morson has no name?

Every other bay and section of lake has a name.

But the area west of Sabaskong, south of Miles Bay, east of the Basil and north of Big Traverse has no name. It's a huge chunk of the lake but is nameless.

What's up with that?
