Pizza Burgers

Looking for something easy that your kids wont be able to get enough of? These were my favorite as kid and now my son loves them. If you have any SPAM haters in your house don't tell them its in there, they'll ever know and gives a flavor that's one of a kind:

1/2 lb. ground Spam (about 3/4 of the brick)

1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

1/2 tsp. salt

2 tbsp. parsley

8 hamburger buns

1 lb. ground beef

1/4 tsp. oregano

1tsp garlic powder

1 c. pizza sauce (Whatever brand floats your boat)

Brown the hamburger and while it's cooking, dice up the spam to the consistency of hash. When the hamburger is done browning, add garlic powder, oregano, parsley and salt, diced Spam and cheese. Cook until all cheese is melted. Add spaghetti sauce and simmer for 10 minutes or so. break the Hamburger buns in half and put them open-face up on a cookie sheet Place a spoon-full or two of the mixture on each bun. Place in preheated oven (375 degrees) for 10-15 minutes or until bun feels slightly crisp. Makes 16 pizza burgers.

Hey Thunder, thanks for the recipe. I printed it out for my bride. She used to make them as a kid but lost her recipe. Now she's in business again.

I was kind of in the same boat, Every time I'd visit mom and dad I would look for the recipe in my mom's heaping pile of old recipes and could never find it. then a few weeks ago I came over and she had a pan of them on the counter. She had found it somewhere and surprised me. Now I make them all the time. There as good now as they were then!

Thunder, here's an update. You can take the leftover mix and add it to scrambled eggs. Goood way to start the day.

thanks, I will definitely be trying this. You could also use it as a dip for tortilla chips.
