Scott M
From MN DNR News:Minnesota’s waterfowl hunting season will open at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced Monday. The early goose season will open Sept. 4. So will a first-ever sandhill crane season. Youth Waterfowl Hunting Day will be Sept. 18.“Though waterfowl bag limit and season length decisions will not be made until following the Mississippi Flyway Council and federal regulation meetings later in July, we’re getting the word out about the opening dates now so hunters can plan ahead,” said Dennis Simon, DNR Wildlife Section chief. Another year where you get a week of hunting teal and woodies and then sitting aound waiting for the northen flight to blow thru and praying your actually lucky enough to have those few days off. I may have to head to North Dakota to get some decent hunting in.

brushhog80
With the weather and how it changes from year to year, how do you you know we won't have a warm October? Then you can have 2 weeks of spectacular teal hunting!!! Last year our best hunting was mid October, between the "teal and woodies" and the "big push". Finlander
I saw several flocks of mallards flying over hwy 94 by Monticello! Seems early, but I also saw some floccks of geese in the fields and I don't think they walked into the middle of the field!
