License Plate Screw

Anyone know what size screw it is that holds a rear license plate on a 2003 Toyota Highlander? They broke getting out. They were plastic and they aren't like the ones in my other vehicles.

Your local auto parts store should have new screws and the plastic inserts. I worked at one and we carried them. Shouldn't cost to much.

just knock the plastic speed nut out and replace both with a 1/4x20 stainless bolt and lock nut. makes it harder for thieves to steal your plate.

works even better to get a metric bolt if your concirned with theft..

If you replace them with metal ones make sure you use a little anti-seize on them. Other wise they will never come out in the future!
