Well i got myself a 99 kx 250 the other day for cheap and it smokes real bad to the point it spits oil out the exuast....

I am goin to start with some general service like cleaning carb, check jet size, new pug and clean the filter. I was just wondering if its possible if trans fluid would be entering the crank area causing this issue, or maybe its time for a new top end?? any thought and advice would be great. THANKS!!!!!!!

No, a broken reed can also cause internal damage if the piece gets sucked into the crankcase. Aside from that, a broken reed will allow part of the fuel charge to be blown back out of the carburetor and then reenter as what should be fresh air, in effect causing an over-rich mixture.

Replace the reeds, make sure you have the correct mixture of oil/fuel, clean or replace the air filter, and give it another try.

well got it together, now its really boggy (falls on its face) when you give it lots of gas, like you would out of the hole, i didnt really notice this before but i did take it around my house once so........i still need to put a new correct plug BR8EVX has a BRPES in to see if that helps.

I checked the plug seemed wet soaked, I did do a comp test ( WARM ) it said around 175 after 4 kicks

Anymore input would be great
