Ole1855
Bryce,I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL with the 6.0, I put duals on it right after I bought it and I get around 14 in town and 16-17 on the highway, when I'm towing my 16' Lund the mileage is stays around 15-16, you hardly know there is anything back there. It has way more power than you could ever ask for and the ride is fantastic for a 3/4 ton.Ole
Bryce
Just scratching my head. Hard to say. I should check what I got for a rear end. Don't remember if i specified a low rear end. Maybe I just got a guzzler for a motor. Just had it in for some warranty work and mentioned the poor mileage and the fact it sounds like a deisel on cold starts. "Operating per manufacturers specs" Probably won't have it long enough to notice any problems anyway.
MNice
2001 chev's and newer 3/4 tons have a 4.10 rear end standard. I don't think you can get the 3.73 anymore in the 3/4 ton.
hawkeye43
in the diesel, they only put the 3.73. you can not get it any other way.
Borch
That is correct on the 3/4 ton chevy trucks. You have to go to the 1500hd if you want the crewcab to get the 3.73 gear ratio. I have a dealer shopping for one with all the goodies I'm looking for as we speak. Hope to have it in my driveway by the weekend.

Dr. Bob
Well Guys - the budget made me go with an older truck. I ended up getting a 94 F250 4X4 Supercab Long Box with a 5.8L motor. It seems to have LOTS of power and rides nicer than my F150 with overloads did. I think I am going to like it . Thanks for all the advice!!! BTW - I too am curious Deemo, Never trust the boards???? Are you refering to the FM boards??? I came here to get input and input is what I got. I look here for family advice . It's a good place to get it! ------------------Crank the Shank! Deemo
Nope not on most just saying that some times it gets to be more of a chevy vs. ford thing than actual honest help. Some are fine and the you will get the fords are always best thing or rice burners suck thing going. Only seems to be when were talking vehicles tho.??? For the most part answers are good. Didnt mean it to sound like it did. Heck most of my posts are questions not answers. Good luck with the new truck. It sounds like it will fit the bill.
