Lessons Learned On My First Trip

This was the first day I've been able to get out this year. It's safe to say that I'm a tad rusty on this after 7 months out of my boat. Here are a few things I learned that may be helpful to you

1) It's much easier to put the plug in your boat BEFORE it's in the water and before water is filling your floor compartments

2)Check the hardness of the shore before you jump out to put the plug in with your wallet in your back pocket

3) If you store batteries inside and hastily install them into your boat the night before, your ability to use your trolling motor will be much shorter than planned if you accidentally put the starting battery on the trolling motor and the deep cycle as the starting battery.

4)Last Septembers sunflower seeds - not so good

5)The early bird may get the worm, but the Green Pumpkin worms did pretty good for themselves today as well !

I applaud you for getting out there!

Don't worry about tyhe plug, there are two types of boaters out there, those who admit doing that, and those who lie about it.

if it makes you feel any better........did the same thing this spring when the water was around 40 degrees, also, my plug is UNDER the boat! glad you got out and hooked up with some fish!
