Local Humminbird Repair

bonefish

Question

I have an older unit (Matrix 87c) that came on a used boat. The Depth, Weather, GPS, and internal map all work fine, but it won't read my Navionics card. I know the card works because I've been testing it in my Lowrance handheld. I can't seem get it to show up in the setup function to turn on the map feature in the Humminbird. It's as if it doesn't recognize the card is inserted.

Is there a local place in the Twin Cities to have it looked at? Or would I have to ship it to Humminbird and pay the $250 min repair fee they list on the HSOforum?

It may only be able to read the old Gold version of the Nav chip? I recommend you send a e-mail to Humminbird or call, and ask what cards are compatible or ask Navionics. I'm fairly certain the 87c will not run all nav card version.

I think it is a card version issue.
