Rod repair

I have a G Loomis rod with a lifetime warranty. I have a missing islet. Is this an easy fix? Assume something fast and easy somebody locally could fix versus mailing the rod back to G Loomis? Some place in the Twin Cities? I think the Lund's Hardware store in River Falls does rod repair?

I'm sure you could get it done locally, but I bet it voids the warranty from Loomis. I would rather send it in and be without for a week or so than possibly be out a warranty if something worse happens.......

Yeah you are probably right. It is just the ceramic guide within the islet that is missing. Seems like a simple repair. I have to mail in my rod to G Loomis. You think turn around will only be one week?

I have some other beater poles that I can use while I wait for the repair.

That does seem like a simple fix and one that should be easy to do, but not sure I would take the chance (imho) with the warranty.

I know the 2 times I have sent in my TFO's (both from me being dumb and expecting more out of them than I should have) I had them back in 5 days. Scott is the same as I can recall, not sure about Loomis.

Sounds good. Off to the post office tomorrow to buy a tube and insure my rod too.

If it's a rod with a lifetime warranty, then I would definitely go through G Loomis.
