Minnkota Power Drive Question

I have a early 2000's Minnkota PowerDrive trolling motor. While out fishing, I ran into some thick weeds that stopped my prop from spinning. After cleaning off the weeds, the prop would no longer spin. I know that power is getting to the trolling motor because I can hear the "click" that occurs when the prop is supposed to spin. Also, there is no problem with turning the trolling motor. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Did you take the prop off and check behind it? Wouldn't think but if it got slugger up that bad maybe something is wedged in behind it. Can you turn it by hand, the motor just won't spin it might have burnt the brushes.

I did take the prop off & cleaned out the weeds stuck behind there, but that did not change anything. Thanks for the advice.

you didn't lose the little pin that functions like a shear pin did you?

Can you turn the prop by hand?

Take the prop of and see if the shaft spins when pressing the pedal. If it does you probably lost or broke the drive pin the goes through the shaft. If it doesn't you burnt something up between the relay and motor (brush, wire or connection)

Hold up. There's some type of thermal breaker or something in the controller. Mine does the exact same thing. You have to wait a few minutes and it will reset... OR disconnect and reconnect the power to the TM and it will be reset and you will be all set.
