Boat Floor- Bed Liner vs Vinyl floor covering

beretta

Question

Im putting a false floor into my jon boat. I was wondering if anyone has used truck bed liner on their floor? I am trying to decide between vinyl and truck bed liner. What are the pros and cons of each? Can you paint on either? ie cattails?

Thanks for any help you can offer

Haven't used either but I think I would go with the bed liner it will probably last longer. I know guys that have used the stuff on other projects with really good luck. If you want to paint it I think you have to use a flexible paint like they do on plastic dumpers. Paint would probably adhere better to the bed liner because of the texture. I'll ask my buddy what type of paint he used and get back to you.

Do a search for over tons on line. They sell some stuff called tuff coat. It is simular to bed liners, but has bits of rubber in it, it less slippery than the bed liner. It works great and comes in several colors. I have had it in my boat for 2 years now.
