Jim Uran
I was thinking on doing a feathery (sounds kind of femmy ) inlay next to my foregrip where my hook keeper is. A good dose of CP is necessary I'm guessing, I haven't used that CP yet, does it need a lot of time to set up and does it have an adhesive quality? I've got some grouse feathers, some pheasent, and duck feathers available!!!
upnorth
Color preserver is pretty close to watered down glue. It will stick abit and I would let it setup for at least 4 hours or more before you apply the final finish. If not completely dry it is going to wind up getting milky on ya. Careful how you mix it up. If you shake it or stir it too vigorously may get bubbles that take some work to cover with the epoxy.I have seen a lot of feather inlays and I don't think they look "femmy" You can even do them on the butt section in layers, or in a pattern. I have not done any, but have a few feathers around that I had thought of trying.
bemidjibasser
Color preserver will stick them down well. I have done a few and just "paint" the cp over the feather. I did an underwrap that I placed the feathers on so the feathers would stand out a little better. I let mine dry over night just to make sure it was dry... Wildabeast
under wrap, apply feathers, a coat of CP, let dry overnite. Then apply finish.
