zrt6
i have a 2006 115 optimax, wondering whats different in the new 125 optimax, can mine be updated to get 125 horsepower?
Larson15
It should be the same exact motor except the 125 is probably tuned a little different. I dont think you would gain a whole lot for just 10 hp.
marine_man
Welcome to Fishing Minnesota zrt6!I don't have any real insight into the differences, but between a 2006 and a 2010 motor I suspect it's more than ECM mapping difference.marine_man
bassNspear
welcome to HSO zrt6!i believe the new 125 is a pro xs, which will have more power! I will look into it more and get back with you!
Larson15
The new 125 is not a pro-xs, it is a regular optimax.
zrt6
i did some more looking around and found out the differences between the 2 motors, the 125 has carbon fiber reeds instead of stainless steel,a diiferent air intake silencer, exhaust port tuning, and ecm updates for fuel flow and spark advance.
