The Man, welcome to HSO. The lower sections of the Trimbelle below Hwy 10 is best known for producing larger fish, but has solid numbers too. The whole stretch down from 10 is actually pretty decent. Obviously part of the fun is finding spots for yourself, but the 2nd bridge down from Hwy 10 (on Cty O) is a good place to start. There's a habitat improvement section up through the pasture. Good luck!

I'm interested in checking out the Trimbelle. Don't want to take anyone's fav spot or anything, just wondering where the public easements are, and whether you guys ask permission when going near private land. Don't want to upset anyone. Hints will be well appreciated, thanks much!

There are a bunch of easements. I'd check those out. One is the first Co O bridge downstream of 10. Fish upstream from bridge. Pasture section. There are more easements just upstream of 10 along Co O. Look for brown DNR signs. You can also fish in the park downstream of 10.

Awesome, thanks! Thinking about checking the Trimbelle out this upcoming weekend. Hope the bite is still on. We were on the Willow this past weekend, and no one was cooperating. Caught 2 fish total both Sat and Sun afternoons. Ran into a couple of park rangers, and they said others have been reporting the same. Not sure what's going on @ the Willow. A couple of weeks back, we had some pretty good days with 15-20 fish per day. Perhaps the weather? Perhaps we lost our touch =(

Fishing lower, middle, or upper? The river is 26 miles. The fish migrate. The lower area is where most people fish and it is not terribly productive. However I do want to spend quality time fishing from little falls to the lake. Marty Engel electroshocked a 13 lb brown years back. There are a few big fish along with the nice small mouth bass. Need to put in your time if you are looking for a biggie on the lower end of the Willow. Notice the DNR stock rainbows to help offer a better chance at catching trout on the lower end.

We've fished a few areas of the Willow: lower area near the dam (caught small smouth and sunnies a couple of weeks back, but had some good luck with trout earlier during C & R), a little bit downstream from the water fall -- pulled in a couple big ones 13-18 inches in a deep pool, and couple of other public access sites upstream to that where we had some nice catches bow+browns. Amidst of this, we only used spinners and crank baits for we're not great or even competent fly fishers. Not sure how the flies are working. But you and 'so haad' are probably right -- migration, deeper waters, sunshine, and skiddishness.

Maybe better luck next weekend?

the man I have not fly fished for a while. I'd stick with the standard blue wing olive #16, elk hair caddis. I imagine the yellow mayfly hatch will be going on soon if it has not started already. All through June the rivers boil closer to dusks in gravel runs. Like a BWO only pale yellow. For Kinni use more of a granny smith apple color. Otherwise standard nymphs like #16 hare's ear or pheasant tail crystal flash. I like bead head. Gold ribbed work well too. Tie on elk hair as your indicator or just use a pinch on palsa.

For access points on the Rush the sky is the limit. Not a ton of easement but everyone fishes it and landowners seem to be cool. I like 570th pig farm, I like El Paso bridges. I like the consecutive pools upstream of Martel. I like the Red barn below Martel. Martel to 385th, you cannot go wrong. Once you have fished them all like I let me know your favorite stretch.

The yellow mayfly you are referring to is sulfurs. I remember fishing the rush in the early season and accessing it at a sportsmans club or a rod and gun club that was right on the river. Do you know what I'm talking about and if you do what is its name? Because I remember there was a very large rock in the middle of the river that formed a really deep pool. Anyother public access points that is near ellsworth WI or where ever the most and reasonably sized trout?

It looks I will try 450 th st. Where is that? It doesn't seem on the google maps that a 450th ST crosses the rush.
Sure does. You might want to look again. Just below where Lost connects up.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
