Anyone up for some river fishing in the Mankato area tonight?

I have a night off and no fishing partner...thinking about throwing a line in for a few hours and seeing if a flathead will bite. ( I know it is early ). Let me know if anyone is interested. I have one spot in mind, but it may be pretty early, so I am open to going anywhere.

Did you have any luck? I fished out of land of memories last Sunday with no kitty bites, did manage to pull up a 25" eye though. Planning on heading back out this Sunday if it's not raining too hard.

No luck last night..was only out there for a few hours though. I am anxious to get something on the rod that is bigger than a crappie though!

Plenty of areas in Mankato that are great for Catfishing. I know the spot you speak of, but trust me there are others. Just find any public land and look around for signs of snags, eddys, current seams, holes, etc and set up camp.

When I lived down there I had about 4 or 5 different spots I liked to fish. Just put in the time to scout out areas (I did this a lot) and give yourself enough spots so if you show up and someone else is there you can move to the next one.
