The HS Strut Ring Zone Lil' Duece proved successful for me on Friday. I really like the realistic tone of it and it's easy to use.

My goto slate is an old Primos Freak with frictionite. Sand it up real good and you'll get some sweet yelps out of that rosewood striker. Great for clucks/purrs too.

I second the hs strut lil deuce ring zone. I bought one at ff. they are on sale. It is way easier and more realistic than my Primos acrylic.

I tried 3 different slates last Saturday. I was shocked the Ring Zone didn't get the response I was looking for. My old MAD Calls Custom Crystal (Glass) managed to get a response, but it was the Wood Witch that did more to bring them in.

And a +1, +2 and a +3 on the Rosewood striker.

It all comes down to what the turkeys like. Doesn't matter how it sounds to us other than to make the sale.
