givetoget
I am no lawn care expert by no means, and would like to know what plugging or arerating does for your lawn. thanks for any and all answers
hotrod1
Reduces compaction, removes thatch, allows oxygen and water deeper into the soil and can help roots go deeper.Aeration is best done in the fall when your turf is under less stress and you have lees compitition from weeds. Plus it is a good time to overseed.
MuleShack
Plugging can also help with less dandelions, as those fine species prefer a hard compacted soil to prosper. An aerated yard can help in reducing those pests. I have people that swear by aerating in the spring, they swear their grass is greener or something I personally do my yard in the spring and the fall each year. loosegoose
Rent one at your local rental store in the fall when the soil is moist. Line it up with a few neighbors or relatives and share the cost of the rental.
