I saw my first billboard for the boat show today.

Hate to say it but we are getting freezing rain and snow and are in a storm watch. So I think you may have to wait a little while longer. I think those boat people are just playing with our minds trying to get that spring itch going.

You know that drifty floating place between awake and the coming sleep? - It's always Spring/Summer there, waiting for me to launch, sandals and shorts, not a jet-ski in sight, new line, the kids swear they're really gonna fish this time, and the best Maori chart in 50 years. Visit it every day.

Oh yeah, and when I visit this Spring/Summer place - it's not my 12' alumabeater with a 2horse putter - it's the boat on the billboard!

Robert, Suddenly I hear ya. While ice fishing is ok, open water is my true domain. My lil 80's 14' lund with 20 horse motor may not look like the most attractive thing to most people, but for me it's one of the best things in the world. You can't beat the simplicity and ease of one man operation of it. In my "dream" world a new 17' Boston Whaler might appear once in awhile... but even hearing that ol Johnson fire up is good enough for me.

Im with you guys all the way. My 16 footer with my 15 hoss johnson...Leaky...sigh...my pride and joy. What I would give to be out there open water fishing. Ah well, a little break is good once in a while.
