forest2482
I'm looking at geting a new boat.I mainly fish the waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. I'm looking for which you think would be better for me either the Alumacraft 175 Trophy or the Alumacraft Tournament Sport 185. After looking at both the trophy looks deeper but i was hoping that someone on here could let me know how each handles.
forest2482
no one on here as any experience with either of these boats?
croixflats
My uncle has a trophy 185 been in it a few times. I liked how it handled the waves and you felt secure in nasty weather with high winds. Personality the trophy be a better set up on big water with the higher sides(gunnels?) I think he has had it since 1990 with no problems. You get more protection from the elements especially if you get the bimini top.My first boat was a costom delux and the tournament looks close to the same hull design and the costom delux road like a popcorn machine got rid of it after 3 years. Probably not a good comparison as the custom delux was built in 1984.I'll be fishing out of the trophy this opener for a weak a long with a Lund Tyee so I will be able to compare the 2. Kind of a rivally between the 2 boat owners on who has the better boat.

Ice Hole
I really can't speak for the Trophy, but I have a '08 185 Tournament Sport. I went with the Tournament Sport over a 185 Trophy simply because I liked the layout of the boat better. I don't honestly know if the hull design is much different as is simply looked liked the floor of the boat was lower in the Trophy. I believe (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that the 185 Tournament Sport is actually wider than a 175 Trophy, and the width can make a big difference on larger waters.I'm very happy with the 185 Tournament Sport and it can handle some pretty rough water. Now, I've never fished Lake Michigan out of it, but it has handled well on some of the larger lakes in Minnesota with decent winds.

SkunkedAgain
I don't know how far out you're going, but too me, length would be the biggest issue. The bigger the water, the bigger the boat you'll want to have.
