96 cutlass, real boggy

Recommended Posts

Howdy fellas,

My son's car is a 96 cutlass, 3100, around 170,000 miles.

It feels like there's very little power when you hit the foot feed unless you floor it. Example, when you're doing 40 or so and want to accelerate to 55, ya can't just give it a little more gas, you really have to put the foot feed to the floor to get it to speed up.

I had a code reader. Had is the important word. I borrowed it out and it came back broken, long story.....So, I can't read any codes right now.

I've done the seafoam with the gas thing a lot, no change. I'm thinking plugged catylitic converter.......your thoughts????

Pull the O2 sensor out of the manifold, then just load test to see if power comes back with the O2 out. If not, you may have MAF sensor dirty, bad plugs, or wires. Check the basics first if not done so already.

Chain would have to jump for it to be a timing problem.
