mnhunter2
If you buy a used boat, motor and trailer all set up from a private party what do you have to pay sales tax on and when do you pay it?
marine_man
You only pay for sales tax on the trailer when you register it in your name.marine_man
SkunkedAgain
+1.You would pay sales tax on the whole deal if you were buying from a dealer. Since you are buying from a private party, then only on the trailer as marine_man stated.I would assume (AHEM) that the trailer is worth next to nothing....falling apart....but road worthy....just doesn't carry much value (AHEM). But I'm not suggesting anything!
