What do you look for in a rod to use for pulling boards?? I will mostly be using it on the river, by also some open water.

Lot of guys use the Bass Pro Walleye Series trolling rods designed by Parsons and Kavajecz.

As for boards, Off Shore boards w/ Tattle flags and the snapper release get my vote.

When using the precision trolling book and it says a lure will get to 20ft with 100feet of line out. what determines where you clip the boards on? Do you clip the boards on when line counter indicates 100 ft of line out of the reel, then let more line out?
