shiltsy
So, this morning I booked a trip for the family to Disney in Orlando ... naturally, this evening's research involves my bass fishing options on Disney property!!!
CAMAN
Don't get your hopes up too high. The Disney lakes are managed for quantity, not quality. Expect a high number of 2-3 lb fish with a chance at some 5's. There are a few larger 8+ lb'ers in there but don't expect one. And for $300 for a 4 hour trip I would rather try a guided trip on the Kissimme chain for just a bit more $ and have a better chance at some hawgs. Have fun though, whatever you choose. shiltsy
No way I'd pay for a guided trip on one of those lakes, but it might be fun to fish from shore/dock for free. Guess we'll see if security comes after me...
CAMAN
I don't believe they are open for free fishing. Everything has a price in Disney.
TurnUpTheFishing
Ive been on the guided trips several times and Caman nailed quantity not quality...Where are you staying? If your staying on Disney property with lake access bring your rods I have done it several times. We usually stay at the Wilderness lodge or Wilderness camp ground cabins right on the lake. If you try to fish in the afternoon you'll usually get flak from workers, just try to avoid traffic areas. Fish early mornings or dusk/night and you shouldnt be bothered at all. We did really well fishing buzzbaits and chatterbaits from shore in the evenings. around the wilderness lodge docks. If youre not staying on Disney property you could probably still get to the shorelines but probably not worth the hassle. If you dont want to haul bass gear atleast bring a light spinning rod the panfish in those lakes are big and not pressured. 9-10" 'gills are common, dont be suprised to catch an 11" either.
