We need EVERYONE to give their support on this one. The Waterville area seems to be the biggest anti hotbed at the moment followed by the Sartell area. Please make a point in making these meetings if you live close to any of these areas. If you can't make it then take 1 minute to give your support via email at [email protected]

There is a group of people down there that don't want muskies in Tetonka because the baitshop owner wants the lake to be the "Bullhead Capital of the World". He also wants the clean water in Tetonka as well. I wonder how those two things are going to happen together...

Time to step up and make our voices heard....really. One negative opinion needs 100 positive ones to trump and counter in the eyes of some. I've been getting a lot of emails on this...thanks to all for the "call to take action" and communication.

I'm going to one-up Kellett and challenge everyone to BOTH attend the meetings and email. What else do you have to do Sept 2nd, go to work? confused

All of the public input meetings are on Thursday, September 2nd.

1. Mankato, Gander Mountain 11:30am-8:00pm

2. Owatonna, Cabela's 11:30am-8:00pm

3. Waterville, DNR Fisheries Office, 50317 Fish Hatchery Rd. 11:30am-8:00pm

4. Brainerd, DNR Office, 1601 Minnesota Drive Noon-8:00pm

5. St.Paul, DNR Office, 500 Lafayette Rd. 8:00am-4:30pm

6. Montrose, DNR Fisheries Office, 7372 State Hwy 25 SW 12:30pm-4:30pm

7. Cold Spring, City Offices, 27 Red River Ave. South 5:00pm-8:00pm

We need to support and help the Southern Crossroads and St Cloud groups out. If you want more options and less pressure on Metro and greater MN lakes in general it's a no-brainer.

Regards, Chris

I took the fam to the one in Cold Spring. Never thought I'd get the looks that I did by wearing a muskie T shirt...good grief. The looks I got from the "older" crowd there were like "he's, one of THEM!"...type looks. haha. While talking to one of the DNR folks there my wife was sitting listening to a few lake home owners on the Sauk chain and even she picked up on the fact that these 2 ladies had zero idea what they were really talking about and just proved to everyone by opening thier mouth how truly uninformed they really are. One of them I heard said "muskies will ruin MY lake". haha.

We were there for about 30 minutes...from what I gathered, most of the opponents that I saw and heard were of the older generations.

It was good to talk to the DNR guys though, the ones I talked to without coming right out and saying it seemed to be in support of it. They pointed out the facts on muliple occasions to people that came up and tried to talk against it.

Lets hope it goes through!

When it comes right down to the nitty gritty. Those who make the bigest political donations will also make the laws no matter how uninformed they are. This leaves most fishermen and the DNR out of the debate. One only has to look at what happened on gull lake to see this is true.

Apparently MI is "wealthy and politically connected" so I wouldn't worry about it too much whistle
