Met a hero of mine today. Al Linder. What a stand up guy. Also picked up a 2010 lakemaster chip at Reeds for $89.00 and a 1 year subscription to Outdoor News. Total for the day was around 200. It was one of the best shows they have had in years.

I attended the sportsman show today with my 2 year old daughter. The crowd did seem down a little bit to me also compared to past years (even last year I attended the same day/same time and had a heck of a time with the stroller last year...this year was a piece of cake) Katherine thought the dock dogs were just the neatest thing in the world and spent half the show trying to get her focus off that. Got to see Deitz in action at his display. (daughter that that was neat too) The price of some of those aluminum boats is getting to the point that some of those holdover Rangers at Frankie's is looking like a good deal!

Anyone see those 350hp v-8 outboards?!?!?! "WOW" was the only thing that came to mind.......

Ended up not picking up anything but I am now definately "stoked" for the ice fishing show in December. I ran into a few people with the "ins" on the FL-22 and from everything I gathered....that is going to be one sweet machine in EVERYTHING it can do. Time to save the pennies for that. Good thing for me I forgot my checkbook at home, otherwise I would have gone home with a leech lake knife. I had never seen one in person before but they are a simply amazing knife.

All in all, it is fun to get out and look at everything. Just a bit dissappointed with the show and the lack of "campers" on display.

Living in the Brainerd area, I've had the fortune of running into Mr. Walleye and Al Lindner too. Great guys, regular guys, not taking their fame to their head.
