Jarrod32
Digger comes to our home at about 9 months old. He comes from a hunting line of Golden Retrievers; he was donated by the breeder to a local woman who trains dogs to assist kids with autism (All-Purpose Canines is the name of her business). However, when Digger was x-rayed, his hips came back as "good". This is good enough for most, but when you put all the training necessary into a service/assistance dog, they need to be 'perfect'. So, Digger needed a home. We've had him for about a week and a half now. We did not name him; when he was still at the breeder's last May/June, his littermates were playing around on the lawn, and this one was off by himself digging in the flower bed. Hence, the name "Digger". The retrieving instinct is there, and he is responding well - and quickly - to basic "heel" and "sit" commands. And yes, he looks a little muddy in the pictures. He is not afraid of water...at least not in the mud puddles in the back yard.
