kitchy
Any suggestions on boat seats? I have a 16' Lund so I am looking for the fold down pedestal style seats. I'm tired of replacing the $50 FF specials. I have some family members that like to think the seats recline and they always end up bending the hinges. Plus I would like somethng high back and more comfortable. Probably in the $100 range. Looking at the Temptress Navistyle right now.
Northlander
Temptress have been good seats and have some very nice upper end ones.
Pat K
They are at least double the price you're thinking of, but the Atwood Centrics are the most comfortable seats I've fished in.
BobT
One thing I have yet to understand is why boat seat makers design the seats so they don't provide any lower back support. The seats in my 1991 Lund Rebel 16 weren't very good at this at all. Now I have my 1998 Sylvan Adventurer 1600 and the same problem. When you sit down the seat design makes you feel like you are laying back when you try to rest your back against the seat. It's no wonder people tend to sit in them as if they're recliner. They offer no support on rough water either. I will say that the seats in my brother-in-law's 2004 Lund Mr. Pike are much better. They actually do offer some lower back support but could be even better. One of my projects this spring is to try and find a way to modify the seat backs in my boat so they sit more upright and offer back support. I'm not sure how I'll do this yet and still maintain hinge integrity.
Dan Brelje
I am also in the market for new seats. I know that cheap ones have issues with the backs breaking and the hinges going bad. Does anyone have good experiences with the cheaper seats, wood or plastic? (39-59?)
