Anyone here with a beta invite? Thoughts on the gameplay?

I don't have an invite so I'm playing a modified AI version (the AI is terrible) and the game really doesn't seem to play all that different than the original. I would have liked to seen more innovations put into the game.

Bummer, was really looking forward to this coming out! Guess we'll see how it ends up.

Wish they would come out with another RTS Warcraft as well.

I know, I still play TFT throne a lot, though mostly I've been sticking to DOTA lately.

I liked TFT. Haven't played it in a long time. May have to pull it out and throw it on the laptop for travelling!!

Never played DOTA.

Blizzard sure likes to drag their feet with these games!!!! (other than WOW)

Wish Microsoft would come out with a sequel to Age of Mythology as well.

Original Starcraft was the bomb. I'm curious to see how this one goes.

Well now that the AI has been dramatically improved (remember the AI is done by civilian programmers at this point, it's not the Blizzard AI), I can tell you that while the units are for the most part the same, it plays very differently. Walling yourself in with cannons or sunkens doesn't work, as the new units destroy structures much much faster than the original. You need to be able to form a diverse army in a hurry to compete. Blizzard keeps rebalancing the game every day so who knows what the final gameplay will be like.
