I always fish Crow lake for lakers. We park trucks at Hansons and head out onto the lake via snowmobile. I know there are always a few trucks that stay close to the lodge and fish lakers there. Your spots are limited though, as you venture out on the lake there is bad areas with current and we often find variations in ice conditions when we are out there. I would contact Hansons or Muskie Bay resort on Crow and ask them.

I have also seen some people with trucks out in Whitefish Bay on LOW, but again contact the resorts on LOW to make sure.

I know I would recommend taking a four wheeler or snowmobile if you have access to either of these. You can access more areas with fish, and be safer in doing so.

There's a few drive-to resorts in the Nestor Falls and Sioux Narrows area. I believe there are also motel(s) in Nestor and Sioux Narrows.

Driving trucks on trout water doesn't happen very often. Usually a fair amount of snow/slush and ice thickness varies a lot. There is usually a plowed road on WFB that comes out of Sioux Narrows and I've seen a couple trucks use it. Odds are you would be pretty limited if your only transportation is a truck.

You're best bet would be to check with resorts and see if they have snowmobiles for rent.

Muskie Bay rents out snowmobiles last I knew. Be sure to confirm the price per day prior to going up. I have been surprised by price increases in the past. They likely only rent sleds to guests but have nice lodge rooms and cabins and if your go with the meal plan the food has always been excellent and plentiful. Crow can be a tough lake to read for laker spots and the average laker is not as largs as WFB bought there are a lot of lakers in Crow. Paul will show you the areas that should be avoided while traveling.

Perfect conditions right now on Crow Lake for getting around with your truck. We usually fish early moring till noon. They can also help you with ice conditions and safe routes.

Get a map at the local bait shop and fish the reefs. The ones with weed beds are the best. 20 to 35 feet. 2.5 - 6 pounds is the average laker on Crow Lake.

Whitefish Bay lake trout are averaging 10 pounds +. Some great walleye catching up that ice road that was mentioned.
