Question

My LMS-350A is on it's last leg. Time to get a new locator. Read all the info about the Bird SI Combo on earlier forums. But I just want a simple low budget Combo. Don't want that large transducer. Is the 778c Combo user friendly? When it says it has a 5" Diagonal display, does that mean 5" from left top to right bottom or 5" horizontal across? Is that screen big enough or do I have to spend more $$$$$ for that 858c Combo that has a 7" Diagonal Display.

Appreciate any and all comments. thks

The displays are measured corner to corner ( lower left, upper right )

Did you take a close look at the 798c SI ? That SI unit comes with a compact SI transducer, not the bigger ones that you see on the 800, 900 an 1100 series, just some food for thought. I've seen some prices in the $800 - $900 range on these.

I ran my 798 all last summer and loved it, I'll be running it again this year.
