Quetico
After hearing tons of great things about Jet boil stoves, I caught wind that they blow up easily and some what often. I was told some of them are starting to blow up with little or no warning. I guess there is a growing crowd out there that refuses to use them after having experienced Jet boils blowing up. Thats a very dangerous thing in the remote wilderness. Also at $100 for the basic Jetboil set-up, not including the fuel canister, thats a fair price to see explode.Anyone else hear news of this? Powerstroke
I personally have never used a canister stove, let alone the jetboil. I like to have the option of using more than one pan and some of my meals require more than boiling water. I have always used MSR liquid fuel stoves. The "flare-ups" with those are from poor priming and nothing defective. They work better in cold temps and they are refillable so there is less waste. Jetboils are neat but not worth it to me. Too many pieces and its not very versatile.
