belly flap worms

How many have come across these small, coiled worms in the fish guts? They don't seem to be attached to the fish itself, just in the belly flaps, and not in the meat. I've heard they are becoming more common...it's passed thru birds [PoorWordUsage] after eating infected crustations. I can name 3 area lakes already. It doesnt seem to affect the fish, but prefer not to fish these lakes as it is pretty disgusting. I believe they're referred to as nemotoads. Can anyone add to this?

I'm just wondering how common these actually are...you probably wouldn't even know they're there unless you were gutting the fish. I think most everyone fillets their catch..and only came across mine when I was checking the stomach..but then someone told me about them before, its actually bad enough to think twice about eating the fish.
