Ok can I take it to the next level, I got some Power Pro Ice line from santa, both Hi-vis yellow and blue both 8lbs test 1"dia anyone use this, before I start respooling reels,

I'm pretty sure any line at that diameter is made for off-shore deep-sea Great White Shark Blue Whale Moby Richard fishing.

I use 6lb line myself and haven't had any problems.

If using rattle reels you have no drag. I like 8 lb for that and 6 lb for rods. Your power pro I believe you meant 1lb dia. not 1" dia. That will work in cloudier water. I would use a flourocarbon leader with it in clearer waters. I use 8-10 lb fireline and a 6lb flourocarbon leader on my rods. Works very well as you don't get the curlys from the mono.

So are you saying I shouldn't have an issue bringing in a 11" slab Crappie with this stuff? whistle That's what I get for not proof reading what I wrote!

power pro is my suggestion for walleyes - you feel every bite since there is very little stretch compared to mono

as eyebjim mentioned, i also use a 6lb mono leader, about 12-16" long

i attach a swivel between the 8lb power pro and 6lb mono because walleye jigs tend to twist your line
