Built in battery charger in Ford F series?

A year or two ago there was talk about charging fish house or boat batteries while towing. I think it was brought up that Ford F-150, 250, etc... had a built in circuit for charging batteries while underway, it just had to be tapped into. Does anyone know more info on this? I have an '06 F150 XLT with tow package and I'm curious if my truck may have this.

I've looked at the Stay 'n' charge, but if it's built into my truck, I'll go that route.

Look in the power distribution box under the hood. There should be a place to put the fuse in for that circuit. If you look in your owners manual, it should point you to the fuse location. The wire should be already in the trailer connector at the back. Then you will need to wire the fish house from there.

do you have a brake controller for trailer brakes? there should be depending on if you have a 4 or 7 wire plug a hot wire that you can tap for charging a battery off the plug. if not it is pretty easy to tie a hot lead to the battery postitive cable and run to a plug at the rear, then do the same to the battery in the trailer. when the truck is plugged into the trailer you could also plug in the battery. down fall is that if you leave it plugged into truck it could drain the battery. you could put as batter isolator on the trailer side to keep it from draining back and would only charge, similar to a check valve only allows power to go one way.

I have a break controler and a 7 way plug at the back. Can I tie into the 7 way battery charge wire to charge both the trailer brake back up battery as well as the winch deep cycle battery, or will I run into trouble there?
