Yes, if it has a Garmin Warranty, it is as good as new.

A rare few 530's had a software glitch and had to be reprogrammed by Garmin, it was likely one of them. So you can be sure if Garmin let it out, it is as good as new. They are very particular about there service work and if it was at all suspect, it would not be released again.

I have a couple and I value them highly. A very good unit for the all around sportsman. I would say go for it, it is a good deal.

You should be able to also register it on there web site, and that will also insure your full warranty and any updates that may come out, for free. I recommend you do it as soon as you get it, there on line service is exceptional and very easy to work with if ever needed.

The Garmin 530 HCx has a track record of being very durable and dependable, and accurate. Often now used by special teams in the military, and they speak very highly of it.

I'm a Vex and a Lowance guy but years back had great luck with my hand held Garmin. Matter of fact gave it to my buddy who still is using it trouble Free.
