Embedding YouTube video

Recommended Posts

I know to embed a YouTube video in a post here on the forums you go to the video site and copy and paste the "embed" code into your post.

Problem is, when I do that, all that shows up in my post is the code, not the embedded vid. I've looked at other folks' embedded code, and it looks just like what I'm trying to do, so I'm wondering why theirs shows up and mine does not.

It looks like this:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="

name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The way I've added videos in posts is:

Copy the http: address of the video. Example:

Click on the "enter media tag" button (the 5th button from the left on top of where you enter your post text, or four down from the Smilies button)

Select YouTube, for example.

Paste the http address that you copied in step #1 in the pop-up box.

You are using the html code Steve. That won't work, unless you have admin rights wink

Just copy the url address, then use the YouTube media tag icon in the full reply screen.

or the long hand version [video:youtube]xxxxx
