OLD (30 yr) eskamo auger blade sharpening/replacement?

so i got a power auger last weekend from my neighbor who occasionally browses this HSOforum, because he saw on here that i dont have one!!saves me a couple hundred bucks for a couple years!!! my dad gave it to him cuz he never used it and he got a new one so now its mine!! anyways

its an "eskamo", no not eskimo(same brand idk)? the thing is like 30 years old, it runs on first pull almost every single time, its a champ!! ive used it a few times and it wont cut through the last 2 inches, figured it needs new blades or a sharpening. i cannot find a place that has replacement blades and have heard that only certain places can sharpen it. (it has a chipper blade) its still a lot easier to drill and finish off holes with the hand auger, but i would love to get the blades good!!

does anyone have any places where they believe i could get new blades, or a sharpening??PLEASE!!? i plan on calling eskimo tomorrow to see if it is the same company, if there was just a name change.

ive really been tryin to get it done today, and was gunna ask my neighbor but i dont think hes home.

Thank YOU!!!

I have a Ardisam Eskimo 10" from the 1980's and the Auger and transmission look like what I have. With the age of your auger who is to say the previous owner did not install just any blade he could find with the same bolt hole pattern? Somewhere on your auger you should have a model # along with a serial#.

i had checked with eskamo when i bought mine on an auction could not find a new blade for it had it sharpened once at a bait shop but it still did not cut the best eskamo changed the direction of auger rotation on the new augers but jiffy rotates the same direction as my auger bought the jiffy blade mounted it on my auger and it cuts like crazy and now if i need a new blade i just buy another jiffy blade
