Strike Lite Auger

broken line

Question

I know this topic has been touched on recently - but, looking to see if there is any new info.

Bought a Strike-Lite just a month ago. The motor runs great and starts right away. The problem is - when cutting multiple holes, the slush and water ice at the bottom of the auger and it becomes basically useless - won't cut an inch.

A weekend at Red Lake and Lake of the Woods confirmed this problem - it happened several times and buddie's Lazer Mag had to be used instead.

Can I put a Lazer Mag auger shaft on the Strike Lite - and more important, do you think it would be fair to ask Strikemaster to foot the bill for it. I'm seriously considering returning this auger because of the freezing up issue.

Get rid of that foolish plastic/composite always freezing up auger assembly and put on a metal one like the lazer mag. Thats what most guys are doing. I would see if you can return it and get a Lazer mag. No worries about oil leaking out if you set it down the wrong way.

Swing back in at Strike-master in Big Lake and they have been pretty generous giving out replacement bits (metal) in exchange for your plastic composite. My buddy did this a couple weeks ago and boy does his strike lite rip ice now. The blades freezing up sure was a real pain in the a$$.
