Lowrance H20 C and Lakemaster chip

Cast A Way

Question

I purchased a Lowrance H20c and a Lakemaster Minnesota chip. After hours of trying following directions and contacting friends who have them , couldn't get the chip to load into the H20. Returned it the the store and they couldn't either. Are we doing something wrong. Or is the chip or H20 bad. Thanks.

i have heard of guys having troubles getting the LM chip to read in the H20's... we had problems with ours when we first got it, but after fooling around with it for 5 minutes, we realized we werent putting the chip in how it was supposed to be going in. however, if you took it into the store and they couldn't figure it out either, it must be something wrong with either the unit or the chip. let us know if you get to the bottom of it. did you return the unit and chip or exchange it for a different one?

I did return the unit and the chip - in the store we tried the chip I bought in another unit with no success. We also tried another chip in both units with no success. These were the last 2 of each the store had. I used a Garmin in my boat beating the waves for 15 years with no trouble. I really want a unit that will read the chips for Minnesota and Lake of the Woods/Rainy River. The store was going to check with the supplier to see what happened.

Presco, I just picked up a H20C from cabelas for $169. They are clearing them out, and it was listed in a printed catalog that I recieved in the mail. If they aren't out of stock yet, I bet you could call thier customer service and order one. They no longer show them on the HSOforum.

Good Luck
